When you start your course, you will need to select the language from the dropdown menu at the top of the page.
You can complete this course at your own pace. There are no page timers and you may skip forward or back to study the material in whatever order you desire. After each chapter there is a quiz to help ensure you have learned the necessary information.
At the beginning of the course you are asked to answer 10 security questions. During the course, you will occasionally be asked to provide the answers you saved to these questions. If you answer incorrectly, you will be locked out of the course and need to call support and request the course be unlocked.
When you feel you are ready, you may take the exam. The Texas Certified Food Manager exam has no proctor, so you can take it on your computer, tablet, or smart phone.
Most users complete the course in one day.
Yes—75 questions. There are two possible test forms you will be offered, randomly. Both test forms are equivalent with the same minimum passing score of 70%. You have two opportunities to pass the exam. After that, you must repurchase the exam to have another opportunity.

Yes. Your certificate is valid across any food service establishment in Texas. The Texas Certified Food Manager certificate is not valid outside of Texas, however.
Your Texas Certified Food Manager certificate is valid for 5 years. This information will be printed on your certificate and may be checked by using our online verification program.
Probably. Texas also accepts the ANAB-approved Food Protection Manager certification. If your out-of-state Food Protection Manager course is ANAB-approved and not expired then it is accepted in Texas.
