Tennessee Professional Server Permit Training $24.99 Seats
Enhance your knowledge and stay compliant with the latest laws and regulations in the State of Tennessee through our comprehensive Server Permit Training Program. Whether you're a new or experienced alcohol server in an on-premise setting, this course is tailor-made for you.
Tennessee's Responsible Vendor Program requires anyone who wishes to serve or sell alcoholic beverages for on-premise consumption at an establishment licensed by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC) must obtain a Server Permit, which requires successful completion of a Tennessee ABC-approved Server Training Program.
Our Server Training Program is meticulously crafted to align with the Tennessee Code and has received official approval from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC). Before starting this course, it's crucial to obtain a Regulatory Licensing & Permitting System (RLPS) Application ID Number for a Server Permit, which is explained more fully below and at the beginning of the course.
Employees of certain establishments selling alcohol may become Certified Clerks instead of taking the Server Permit training, which is a less expensive alternative. The Responsible Wine Vendor certification is required for clerks in retail food stores, retail package stores, or wineries. Responsible Beer Vendor certification is required for individuals working as retail food store clerks. The courses below meet the training requirements to become a Certified Clerk. Our Server Permit Training Program is an online course aimed at allowing you to obtain your Server Permit training, which is required of owners, managers, and servers of establishments that serve/sell alcohol for on-premise consumption. It is periodically updated to stay current with the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission rules and to improve quality.
Before taking this course, you must register for the Server Permit from the Regulatory Licensing & Permitting System (RLPS) Portal. When you start this course, you will be asked to provide your RLPS Record Number that is provided after you complete the Server Permit application process on the RLPS Portal.
Each lesson contains detailed information on the topic and fun exercises. Self-paced lessons take less than 15 minutes and have a voice-over option that reads the lesson aloud. There are short 5 minute quizzes after each lesson.
A final exam is offered once all 4 lessons are completed. To get your Server Permit, you must achieve a score of 70% on the final exam.
Upon successful completion of this training program, you will understand:
Completing your Responsible Training Server Permit Training shows you have had obtainied the required knowledge in alcohol safety and regulations and laws. It shows you have learned how to serve alcoholic beverages responsibly.
Many different situations can come up while working in an alcohol service role, and you might not have the knowledge needed to deal with those circumstances if you didn’t bother to complete the training process.
Your Server Permit Training Certificate demonstrates that you have completed the training for the Server Permit, but the certificate indicating successful completion of the program is not a TABC server permit
If you have already started working and you have never held a Server Permit, you have 61 days after the start of your employment to apply for your Server Permit and complete the ABC-approved training.
You must provide a copy of your Server Permit to your employer, who is required to keep copies of all workers' permits and make them available to the Tennessee ABC when requested. In addition servers are required to have a copy of their Server Permit on their person while they are working.
If you are trying to fit this training into your busy schedule, we have good news – you won’t need to commit hours and hours of study time to this process. You can work at your own pace and go through each of the four lessons plus the final review and exam as you are ready and have time available. Roughly 20 minutes will be required for each lesson and quiz, and there are four of those to complete, followed by a final review and exam process.
You have up to six months from the date of registration to complete this program. With some time set aside to focus on the task, this course can be completed in a day and you will be finished with your Server Permit training requirement.
The Tennessee Server Permit is valid for five years from the date of issue. It may be checked by using by logging into our account on Responsible Training's online verification system or the RLPS Portal.
After you complete your training and pass the final exam, your score will be transmitted by Responsible Training to the RLPS Portal. The Tennessee ABC will then email your certificate to you. You may also download your Server Permit from the RLPS Portal.
