A responsible server training program helps new and current Certified Clerks keep up to date on laws and regulations that govern the sale of alcohol in the State of Tennessee. This course is designed for employees of retail food stores, retail package stores and wineries that have met all the requirements of such status. In particular, clerks working for a responsible wine vendor must have the Responsible Wine Vendor Certification.

This Responsible Wine Vendor Training Course is modeled after the Tennessee Code for the responsible wine vendor permit and has been approved by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

How to use Responsible Wine Vendor certification

The Responsible Wine Vendor Certificate qualifies you as a Certified Clerk for working in retail food stores, retail package (liquor) stores, and wineries. As a Certified Clerk with a Responsible Wine Vendor Certificate you are allowed to serve wine for tasting and consumption at the winery where you are employed as a clerk.

For how long is the Responsible wine vendor certificate valid?

The Responsible Wine Vendor Certificate is valid for one (1) year from the date it is issued and must be renewed each year. You can check the expiration date by logging into your Responsible Training account. We will also send you an email to remind you to renew your certification.
