Anyone who is in charge of the day-to-day operations in a place that serves food to the public, such as a restaurant, bar, food truck, or hospital, must hold a Food Protection Manager Certification to show they understand food safety.
MISSION STATEMENT
Responsible Training seeks to be the national leader in delivering accurate and easily accessible online credentialing programs that meet recognized national standards. In doing so, Responsible Training strives to meet or exceed the customer service, content, and technological expectations of:
- our clients who require specific knowledge and/or skills to competently perform their jobs,
- the city, county, and state health jurisdictions/departments who require staff who hold credentials from an accredited certificate or certification program,
- the businesses that use our programs or hire our clients.
Holding a Food Protection Manager Certification shows employers that you understand food safety and health regulations and have the knowledge needed to oversee food handling and processing operations. Both employers and health officials can check your certification status through our online system.
When applying for jobs, you may call yourself a "Responsible Training Food Protection Manager Certification Recipient". You can refer to your "Responsible Training Food Protection Manager Certification" on your resume.
You may not say or imply that you are "certified," "licensed," "registered" or "accredited"; these terms indicate a different type of program than food protection manager certification.
Responsible Training’s first consideration is customer satisfaction. If for any reason you request a refund before a certificate is issued, we will be happy to refund you the full amount of the transaction.
This certification program will assess your knowledge and understanding in:
- Highly Susceptible Populations and FDA Food Code Terminology - 7%
- Foodborne Illness - 9%

- Food Management Responsibilities - 7%
- Food Controls - 23%
- Proper Cleaning and Sanitizing Measures for Food Equipment - 19%
